Message I purchased an AshSpec ECU and requested '91 TMF. I was sent an EPROM for an automatic that had several SERIOUS flaws, some of which could have resulted in major engine damage had I continued to run the car as configured.

Greg sold me an old JWT 555cc single POP TMF EPROM he had laying around. My idle "magically" cleaned up and the car ran much stronger, hesitation was gone as well. There were serious issues with the IAC programming and other issues that I have since forgotten the specifics on.

I don't know if Greg still has the faulty EPROM he pulled out of my car, but he asked me at that point in time NOT to make a public display out of it, because he did not want to be dragged into a public pissing match with Ash. I think the statute of limitations applies here now and the truth can be told.

I should have saved that EPROM and had it analyzed to see exactly what the problem is. Greg was kind enough to cut me a great deal on the JWT chip, so I respected his request and let sleeping dogs lie.

Would I ever put a hackjob AshSpec ECU in my vehicle? Hell no. Was this an isolated QC flaw on his end or a shipping mixup? We'll probably never know.
